Tympo is a time tracking app designed for freelancers, consultants, and anyone who needs to log their working hours. It combines a timer with client management, rich notes, and customizable themes — so tracking time doesn't feel like a chore.

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited clients, unlimited projects, unlimited time entries, and 3 themes (Retro, Dashboard, macOS). Every new account also gets a 7-day Pro trial so you can explore all features.

No. You can sign up with just an email address or Google account. The 7-day Pro trial starts automatically — no payment information required.

After 7 days, your account switches to the free plan. You keep all your data and can still use unlimited clients, projects, and free themes. Pro features like advanced exports, tags, and premium themes become locked until you subscribe.

Yes. Every time entry has a rich text notes field where you can write as you work. Notes support bold, italic, strikethrough, and lists. They're saved with your time entry and can be exported later.

Themes change the entire look of your timer, log entries, and dashboard. Tympo offers 5 themes:

• Retro — synthwave sunset with perspective grid (free)
• Dashboard — clean, corporate metrics display (free)
• macOS — translucent panels with traffic lights (free)
• Classic Mac — retro Macintosh window with hatched progress bar (Pro)
• Windows 11 — Fluent Design with colored title bar (Pro)

All themes support dark and light mode and style the timer, entries, and inputs to match.

Pro users can export in three formats:

• CSV — for spreadsheets, accounting, or importing into other tools
• Formatted notes — a markdown file with your notes organized by date and client
• Anonymized notes — same as formatted, but client names are replaced with aliases (Client A, Client B, etc.) so you can safely use AI tools to process your logs without revealing confidential client information

If you want to use AI (like ChatGPT or Claude) to organize, summarize, or process your work logs — for example, to format them for Obsidian or Notion — you might not want to share real client names. The anonymized export replaces client names with generic aliases while keeping everything else intact.

Time rounding lets you bill in clean increments. For example, if you set rounding to 15 minutes and work for 22 minutes, it can round up to 30 minutes. You can configure rounding per client and choose to round up, down, or to the nearest increment.

Yes. Tympo is a responsive web app that works on any device with a browser. On mobile, it adapts to a compact layout with bottom tab navigation. You can also add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Pro (€29/year or €3/month) adds:

• All 5 themes including Classic Mac and Windows 11
• Full date range reports (free plan shows this week only)
• CSV, notes, and anonymized exports
• Time rounding with auto-balance
• Tags for organizing entries
• Weekly email summary

Yes. You can cancel through Settings → Manage Subscription. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your billing period. No questions asked.

Yes. We take security seriously:

• All data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS
• Row Level Security ensures only you can access your data
• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt
• Payments are handled by Stripe (PCI compliant) — we never see your card number
• Hosted on Cloudflare with DDoS protection

You can delete individual time entries, clients, and projects directly in the app. To delete your entire account and all data, email [email protected].

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Tympo is operated by Six Yellow Boxes, Lda, based in Portugal, and we comply with the GDPR. See our Privacy Policy.
